Loading the Boat with Rice in Burma

ADRA, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency, was already working in the Irrawaddy Delta region when Cyclone, Nargis hit the region. This gave them the position to be the first humanitarian and disaster relief agency to respond to the crisis. Even as the military government of Myanmar was restricting other agencies from going into the region, ADRA was on the ground, saving lives. With partnerships and support from other humanitarian agencies, ADRA went on to continue distributing food to the people throughout the delta, whose fields had been destroyed with the salt water from the ocean and unable to grow food.
