Elevated Bedroom for Girls

Young girls in Africa demonstrate the difficulty of getting in and out of the elevated room where they sleep. This is a common practice for young girls in many parts of South Sudan as a way to protect them from the practice of “bride kidnapping”. This is why boys from a distant village steal girls to be their wives so they don’t have to pay the dowery of 50 – 100 cows to get a wife.
